If you are NOT the photographer and you need one, please choose from our trusted photographers HERE.
DO YOU HAVE LIGHTING FOR VIDEO?
No, video or film crews must bring their own lighting. If you are inexperienced the lighting designer can help setup based on any lighting examples you provide when booking HERE.
IS THERE AN EXTRA COST TO USE THE STUDIO LIGHTING.
No, all lighting and grip equipment is included in the rental, unless otherwise stated on the booking page. You are not able to operate the studio’s lights yourself, but you are welcome to bring your own lights. Plenty of time is provided for your setup. Otherwise, the lighting designer will create a studio setup based on any lighting examples you provide when booking HERE.
WHAT BACKGROUND COLORS DO YOU HAVE?
Standard colors are white, black and gray. Out of stock background colors that are NOT white, black or gray must be pre-ordered at $40 each at least 1 week in advance of your shoot. Any non-standard color already in stock, can be used at no extra cost. Black, white and gray do not need to be pre-ordered. The studio provides those as standard HERE.

WHAT ARE ALL THE BACKGROUND SIZES?
The standard large sizes used for most all shoots are 107in x 36in. There are also less wide 86in x 36in, 53in x 36in, and 26in x 36in available for pre-order. Less wide backgrounds are often used in front of wider backgrounds for a two-color look. Out of stock background colors that are NOT 107in x 36in must be pre-ordered at least 1 week in advance of your shoot. 86in x 36in is $40 to pre-order. 53in x 36in is $40 to pre-order, and 26in x 36in is $20 to pre-order. Please pre-order easily by adding the correct amount as a tip when booking HERE.
WHAT STOOLS OR CHAIRS DO YOU HAVE FOR PROPS?
HOW ARE THE ACOUSTICS AT EACH STUDIO?
The acoustics in the 1202 Furnished Loft are flat, due to rugs and dimensions. The 1201 Large Empty Studio has an open sound with no echo due to hard wood floors, heavy wood beam ceiling and brick and plaster, wood wall surfaces.
CAN I WALK IN AND SEE THE STUDIO BEFORE BOOKING?
The studio does not allow walk ins but video rentals can ask to schedule a Go See tour calling or texting direct at: 14133427232 Due to high demand, Go Sees are not available for photo rentals.

No, instead the studio offers fair pricing for everyone with added value HERE.

DO YOU OFFER RENTALS FOR EVENTS, LIKE FASHION SHOWS OR BIRTHDAY PARTIES?
Not at this time, we cater to warm, inviting spaces for photographers, filmmakers and direct clients in need of photo or video services. Though an event type such a birthday party or fashion show may use photography, there are other considerations such as food catering, seating, open space, setup, cleanup and logistics we are not exploring at this time.
DO YOU OFFER RENTALS FOR YOGA CLASSES OR MEDITATION CLASSES?
Yes, yoga classes or meditation classes are welcome at our 532 Main St, Holyoke MA Penthouse location that can be booked directly HERE.
CAN I BRING MY OWN PHOTOGRAPHER?
Yes, we are the original full-service studio rental in New England. This means you are able to bring in your own photographer. Whether your photographer is a professional or shooting for the first time, Nixon will help to make sure the pictures come out as beautifully as possible. Nixon will train your photographer on the correct camera settings and other details during the prep time of your session by booking HERE.
CAN I TAKE MY OWN PHOTOS?
Yes, we are able to provide a tripod or phone stand for you to create your own photos using the timer on your camera or phone. Nixon will assist you with setting this up and you will still enjoy the same great lighting. Please see our availability HERE.
CAN I USE MY IPHONE TO TAKE PICTURES?
Yes, you are able to use your iPhone to take pictures at any of the studios. There are special settings for this to be successful which Nixon will assist you with a tutorial before you get started. iPhone photos can be done during the daytime using natural light as well as during the night using studio lighting. Please add a note letting us know you will be using an iPhone when scheduling HERE.
DOES THE STUDIO HAVE A CAMERA I CAN USE?
Yes, both the 460 Race St studios have a very good, high resolution camera you can use for your pictures during your shoot. The camera is customized by Nixon by hand to make sure it has the best colors and the clearest, brightest pictures. Even if you don’t know how to edit photos, the pictures will come out extremely beautiful like “Wow”. The camera will create pictures that look like the clearest in-house photos you see posted on our Instagram page. Please let us know ahead of time that you will need this camera by booking HERE.
